Benue attacks by Fulani gunmen, 45 dead




The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the death of 45 people as  men suspected to be Fulani gunmen attack Egba village in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue  State.

Austin Ezeani the spokesman of the Police command has confirmed that, 

“As of yesterday evening I can confirm that 45 persons were killed, but whether the figure has risen can only be ascertained later today” 

there have being report that the people killed include women and children. The  gunmen were said to be crossing the neighboring State Nasarawa and raiding the village

Kogi state prison called Koton-Karfe on   Sunday night had an episode, that left the prison gates open and the inmates out on the street. Koton-Karfe is   said to be the home for armed robbers and murderers whom out of 145 inmates, 144 are said to have escape and found their way back into the society.  The Prison Break was facilitated by external attack on the prison around 9:30pm   and 10:00pm said Adams Omale the State Controller of Prison. The correctional facility was ransacked and its ceiling shattered with one of its inmates dead. 12 of the escape convict were apprehended and brought back to Koton-Karfe, these event of Prison Break took place Sunday night. After the event has piped down, the governor of the state today being Monday (03/11/2014)   pays a visit to the prison. The Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Prisons service Aminu Suley also visited the Prison to witness the aftermath of the Prison Break of Sunday night (02/11/2014).
