Norway apologizes for selling military wares to Nigerian insurgent
The Norwegian Defence Chief
Haakon Bruun-Hansen admitted on Thursday that military officials had done a
poor job of selling several surplus vessels in 2012 and 2013 that had made its’
way into the Nigerian paramilitary forces and now the former military employee
has been charged with corruption.
During a hearing before the
parliament’s of disciplinary committee, the admiral says he was not the Defence
chief at the time but take full responsibility,
the Norwegian regulations does not
permit the sales of materials to buyers and offer them for uses in areas of
conflict.
