APC on Point Amaechi got N257bn from ECA account


The Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, come strong on Amaechi when she was asked to account for $20 billion from the Excess Crude Account ECA.

The Governor’s forum has asked the Minister of finance to account for $20 billion from the excess crude account and she said, she has no account to give because, every month details of ECA is being published.

Her spokesman Paul Nwabuikwu said “Rivers received N257.6 billion from the Federation Account between January and October 2013… the statement by the governors is totally strange because Federal Accounts Allocation  Committee  FAAC meets every month and the ECA is discussed at every session with all the state commissioners of finance  present”

The minister  Okonjp-Iweala said it is Ameachi  who read the communiqué of the governors early Tuesday and made unsubstantiated claims that N5billion was missing in 2013.

Thus the minister of finance in the spirit of transparency and accountability will published the statement ECA accounts for the past four years in details.

Kogi state prison called Koton-Karfe on   Sunday night had an episode, that left the prison gates open and the inmates out on the street. Koton-Karfe is   said to be the home for armed robbers and murderers whom out of 145 inmates, 144 are said to have escape and found their way back into the society.  The Prison Break was facilitated by external attack on the prison around 9:30pm   and 10:00pm said Adams Omale the State Controller of Prison.
