Nigerian woman amongst rescued immigrants gives birth on one of the boats




Over the weekend on Monday about 7,000 illegal immigrants were rescued from overcrowded boats crossing the Mediterranean into Italy.
Among them was a pregnant Nigerian woman, while on the point of her rescue, she went into labour and  gave birth to a baby girl. The new born baby girl has since being named Francesca Marina as a tribute to the Italian Navy.

The numbers of people risking their lives as they try to journey to Italy by crossing the Mediterranean keeps growing and people keep dying and more keep trying to do the same

Kogi state prison called Koton-Karfe on   Sunday night had an episode, that left the prison gates open and the inmates out on the street. Koton-Karfe is   said to be the home for armed robbers and murderers whom out of 145 inmates, 144 are said to have escape and found their way back into the society.  The Prison Break was facilitated by external attack on the prison around 9:30pm   and 10:00pm said Adams Omale the State Controller of Prison. The correctional facility was ransacked and its ceiling shattered with one of its inmates dead. 12 of the escape convict were apprehended and brought back to Koton-Karfe, these event of Prison Break took place Sunday night. After the event has piped down, the governor of the state today being Monday (03/11/2014)   pays a visit to the prison. The Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Prisons service Aminu Suley also visited the Prison to witness the aftermath of the Prison Break of Sunday night (02/11/2014).
