Man strangles and bury his day old baby for being a girl in Katsina State



A 35 years old man by name Bello Rabiu has now been arraigned before a senior magistrate court in Katsina. His charge is that, he is accused of killing his new born baby by strangling and buried her in his compound after giving birth by his wife Fatima

He was reported by the village head Alhaji Muhammad Shehu, reported him to Charanchi Police station in Charanchi Local Government Area of the state. Mr Bello was arrested and interrogated and he confessed that he murder the girl because she was not a male child whom he has being waiting for.

Kogi state prison called Koton-Karfe on   Sunday night had an episode, that left the prison gates open and the inmates out on the street. Koton-Karfe is   said to be the home for armed robbers and murderers whom out of 145 inmates, 144 are said to have escape and found their way back into the society.  The Prison Break was facilitated by external attack on the prison around 9:30pm   and 10:00pm said Adams Omale the State Controller of Prison. The correctional facility was ransacked and its ceiling shattered with one of its inmates dead. 12 of the escape convict were apprehended and brought back to Koton-Karfe, these event of Prison Break took place Sunday night. After the event has piped down, the governor of the state today being Monday (03/11/2014)   pays a visit to the prison. The Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Prisons service Aminu Suley also visited the Prison to witness the aftermath of the Prison Break of Sunday night (02/11/2014).
