Supplementary Governorship election in Abia, Imo Taraba



INEC declared the Gubernatorial elections in Abia, Imo and Taraba  states to be inconclusive, thus today the supplementary elections in areas of the above listed states that did not take place due to some irregularities is now taking place.

The elections is now holding in 51 Registration Areas in nine local government areas of Abia State, 79 Registration areas in 23 local government areas in Imo state and 32 registration areas in 10 local government in Taraba state.

INEC says it determines to ensure that the supplementary elections is free, fair and peaceful. The commission urges votes in the affected states and local government to conduct themselves peacefully.

Kogi state prison called Koton-Karfe on   Sunday night had an episode, that left the prison gates open and the inmates out on the street. Koton-Karfe is   said to be the home for armed robbers and murderers whom out of 145 inmates, 144 are said to have escape and found their way back into the society.  The Prison Break was facilitated by external attack on the prison around 9:30pm   and 10:00pm said Adams Omale the State Controller of Prison. The correctional facility was ransacked and its ceiling shattered with one of its inmates dead. 12 of the escape convict were apprehended and brought back to Koton-Karfe, these event of Prison Break took place Sunday night. After the event has piped down, the governor of the state today being Monday (03/11/2014)   pays a visit to the prison. The Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Prisons service Aminu Suley also visited the Prison to witness the aftermath of the Prison Break of Sunday night (02/11/2014).
