Under the then General Muhammadu Buhari Nigeria has stopped equipping its’ Armed forces
The presidential campaign of the
year 2015 is taking a new look and things are boiling in, in all directions, this gets well meaning Nigerians wandering what will it be like if President
GEJ should loses the presidency to GMB and what if, GMB should should loss, in any case i think the worst is yet to come.
The Vanguard news for February 12,
2015 front page reads “Let’s talk about change (1)” the
captioned have a story that is motivating to read
“30 years ago….. under then
General Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria stopped equipping the Armed Forces in a major
way to protect our military regimes from coups”
and now the same man that has stopped
equipping the military wants to fight Boko Haram when elected?!
Now that the Boko Haram has took hold of the country’s North-eastern States ransom, the same man wants to win elections at all cost to make it back to thesame sit of 30 years ago. Will he make a difference when he goes back? or is it the same problem we will face? But the
paper claims that
“once the Boko Haram
insurgency took hold, our Armed Forces
could not cope, mainly due to lack of
equipment, lack of intelligence from local communities and cross border escapes
of insurgent”.
then can I kindle ask, is this why there is negligence, or is
this an excuses for the killings in the Northern part of the country?
President GEJ
“has fully re-equipped the Armed forces”
at the end of his six years tenure? or at the beginning? Mr President, when will the
killings of the innocent stopped? Or is this another campaign strategy to tell Nigerian that he wants to be elected back into office comes 2015 falls?
