Nigerian military takes delivery of two Jets loaded with weapons at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport




The two jets arrived at 4PM and 6PM respectively with various forms of sophisticated weapons meant for military operation in the North-East part of the country.


The Federal  Government of Nigerian campaign to end the killings of Boko Haram in the North-Eastern part of the country may have being the motivating factor that have led to the delivery of this weapons.

As the cargo are being offload from the Airplane,  the military stand guard, access was on the need to know bases and clearance.

The Trade  Union Congress  has appealed for mercy to the soldiers on death-row  on charges of mutiny and other related offences,  and the Trade Union  Congress TUC in a statement 

“the Congress  wishes to also appeal to the Federal  Government  and the military authorities to temper justice with mercy on the soldiers that were condemned some months ago. Justice, they say, serves a better societal purpose, when tempered with mercy. And indeed the quality of mercy is not strained. It is twice blessed. It blesses he that gives and he that takes”

We all hope the soldiers on death-row should be forgiving  and released…..

Kogi state prison called Koton-Karfe on   Sunday night had an episode, that left the prison gates open and the inmates out on the street. Koton-Karfe is   said to be the home for armed robbers and murderers whom out of 145 inmates, 144 are said to have escape and found their way back into the society.  The Prison Break was facilitated by external attack on the prison around 9:30pm   and 10:00pm said Adams Omale the State Controller of Prison. The correctional facility was ransacked and its ceiling shattered with one of its inmates dead. 12 of the escape convict were apprehended and brought back to Koton-Karfe, these event of Prison Break took place Sunday night. After the event has piped down, the governor of the state today being Monday (03/11/2014)   pays a visit to the prison. The Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Prisons service Aminu Suley also visited the Prison to witness the aftermath of the Prison Break of Sunday night (02/11/2014).
