EFFC interrogates former Benue state Governor Suswam over allegation of fraud



Gabriel Suswam, the former Governor  of Benue  State  was invited and interrogated by the officials of the Economic  and Financial  Crime  Commission  EFCC over allegations of fraud that is amounting to billions of Naira  while he was the Governor  of the State.

The former finance commissioner during Gabriel Suswam administration, Omadachi Oklobia was grilled for several hours at the anti-graft headquarters in Abuja. The former finance commissioner was accused of diverting public funds, abuse of office, embezzlement and fraud while still in office. The EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwajuren confirmed the invitation giving to the former Governor  Gabriel Suswam by saying “He was invited by the EFCC in connection with the ongoing corruption investigation in Benue  state”

Kogi state prison called Koton-Karfe on   Sunday night had an episode, that left the prison gates open and the inmates out on the street. Koton-Karfe is   said to be the home for armed robbers and murderers whom out of 145 inmates, 144 are said to have escape and found their way back into the society.  The Prison Break was facilitated by external attack on the prison around 9:30pm   and 10:00pm said Adams Omale the State Controller of Prison. The correctional facility was ransacked and its ceiling shattered with one of its inmates dead. 12 of the escape convict were apprehended and brought back to Koton-Karfe, these event of Prison Break took place Sunday night. After the event has piped down, the governor of the state today being Monday (03/11/2014)   pays a visit to the prison. The Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Prisons service Aminu Suley also visited the Prison to witness the aftermath of the Prison Break of Sunday night (02/11/2014).
