US Government wants a Global Position for President Goodluck Jonathan after May 29
Global commendation
continue to pour out all over the world for President Goodluck Jonathan over
his peaceful effort in the 2015 general election and how he handled himself
when he lost to Mohammadu Buhari.
US Vice
president Joe Bidden called for a
commendation of President Jonathan and
urged him to “remain engaged and play a
leadership role in global issues”
A statement
from the U.S Embassy in Abuja says:
“Vice president Joe Biden spoke today with Nigerian
President Goodluck Jonathan to commend him for his leadership in ensuring
Nigeria’s recent election were peaceful and orderly.
The Vice president noted that president Jonathan’s
actions to accept the result and congratulate President-elect Buhari, as well
as his steps to date to ensure a successful transition, have strengthened
Nigerian’s democracy and set a strong example for Africa and the world.
The Vice president encouraged President
Jonathan to remain engaged and plays a leadership role in global issues after
his presidency ends”
