Meet the South African teens ravaged by Cannabis called ‘Swazi gold’
This is
the most used illegal drugs in the world, and with South Africa as UK’s
biggest providers of high-strength cannabis, ‘swazi gold’ as it is
wrecking havoc on the young population.
The
plant ‘swazi gold’ is being grown by poverty-stricken grandmothers, growing
the drug, and also risking their lives to smuggle it out of the country and
what is left behind is running the lives of South Africa.
The plant
is grown in a tiny South African sovereign state of Swaziland in which it rich nutrient
soil helps in the mass growth of this marijuana. The result of this cannabis which
boasts a staggering high concentration
of THC, which is the psychoactive agent which produces the “high”, this now find it
ways into the UK and the streets of Johannesburg.
“We don’t care where it ends up” as the
farmers of “swazi gold” lamented about cannabis. The marijuana is now mixed
with heroin to make highly addictive new cocktail know as “nyope”.
Some of
the addicts to swazi gold says “I smoke
until I die…… I get crazy if I don’t get this”
most of
these addicts smoke an average of 15 heroin-laced joint per day. The farmers
and dealers pay off corrupt members of the police to avoid being arrested on
daily basis, even at airports that allows the trafficking of the swazi gold
