Police Probe Borno deputy Governor Death



The sudden death of the Borno State  Deputy Governor was one of its kind in Nigeria, he was said to have died  in his sleep(read here) and since being buried(read here).
The Nigerian police is now investigating the sudden death of Mr Zannah Umar Mustapha, no arrest have being made yet but the Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa State Police  Command DSP Abubakar Othman  say the police have not ruled out anything yet pertaining the death of Mr Zannah

The deputy Governor was found laying down face down on his bed, by his  aides when they noticed till 7:30am he was not out of his room and by 8:30am  they decided to knock on his door

“We became suspicious and worried when the deputy governor did not come out of the hotel room by 8:30am and we decided to knock on his door, when he was not answering, some of us went to peep through the window forcing it open.

We saw that he was lying on the bed clutching the pillow closely, we shouted his name but he did not answer. It was at this stage that we decided to call the hotel staff to open the door.
When we got inside, we saw him lying face down, and on close examination, we saw some saliva and blood being discharged from his mouth and we rushed him to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.”

The late deputy was put to rest in Maiduguri cemetery, Gwange and his final prayer was conducted by Iman Idaini of Borno.
