Boko Haram kills 7 in Borno villages and loots grains and moved livestocks



A farming and herding village Awonori, a border village between Borno and Niger on Monday 17th August was raided by the Muslim sect Boko Haram. According to the community leader, dozens of gunmen stormed the village and carted  away food supplies and livestock.

The gunmen who came in vans and on motorcycle around 7:00am besieged the village and opened fire on residents as they were having breakfasts before moving to their farms”
This report was also confirmed by Abubakar  Gamandi the head of Borno’s fishermen Union  saying 

I received report from my members in the Damasak area that Boko Haram gunmen attacked Awonori village this morning where they killed seven people and took away food and livestock”

The raid has now left  the people of that area without food and their livestock “People have no food to feed their families which is why they take the risk of going back to their villages to work on their farms now that the rainy season has started” said Wan-Wan.
