President Jonathan’s aide loses Mum

Obi Asika, an aide to the out-going president Goodluck Jonathan has lost his mum, he made the announcement via his facebook page on Sunday May 3, 2015

My mother passed on unexpected but quite peacefully in her sleep and I want to thank all who have called, sent  messages and ll her families everywhere. My mother was all love, love for people first, then Nigerian and everything about her language people, culture, art , music, and ,literature

She has always been the inspiration and driver for all that we do and it has been my eteral privilege to be her son. It is impossible for me to discuss her in the past tense because I know she lives on within me and so many others.

She has always said how she would like to go when it was her time, peacefully with a smile on her face. I thank the good lord for granting us he favour and sparing her any pain or trauma that was reserved for us who she left behind. Goodnight Mum your work here is done and God bless and keep you amen.

My younger sister Uju has been able to express what so many of us feel and one day maybe I too will be able to express myself in such beautiful language, thanks Uju your words as always are pure poetry and pure love. Thanks everybody if I missed your call I apologies it’s a difficult time for all of us."
