30 died in Bayelsa as Cholera hits the state
Medical Doctors in the state are
battling to contain the outbreak of Cholera
which has already killed 30 people. The outbreak is so quick to affect
the people because of the lack of portable water supply as even the hospitals
have to buy water from vendors that supply water on tanker due to the scarcity of
water and could not even tell how hygienic the water is as they go about their business.
It is no wander that the outbreak
claims lives, as hospital will have to go to “mairuwa” to get water which is
one of the basic need of a hospital for running it affairs of saving lives of
the sick. The outbreak was first reported in Ijaw Local Government area, and
now the situation seems to have worsen over the few weeks as it has claimed 30
lives.
