Volcano Erupts and Triggers A Sonic Boom
In Papua New Guinea 28 August, a
volcano erupts causing a plume of ash, sonic boom and visible shock waves. The thunder
like sonic booms is usually associated when an aircraft breaks the sound
barrier.
A sonic Boom is the sound associated with objects moving through air
faster than the speed of sound and creating a shock wave, they are associated with
high speed aircraft such as SR71B which have sonic boom characteristics and
used by NASA to study aerodynamics. This take place off the coast of New Papua
Guinea at Mount Tavurvur.
The volcano continues to erupts
days after the first eruption, these volcano have being erupting every few
years ago and in 1994 it exploded at the same time as another volcano, Mount
Vulcan which destroys two third of the city of Rabaul
